LAYLA

ok so like, obviously i really like this band. i got into it late last year (halloween was when i originally got into metal and harder music like that.) which was also around the same time my girlfriend who i was codependent on broke up with me. it was a huge blow to my mental health at the time, but thing is, i was discovering KoRn and other bands that i really liked, which helped me so much. the month she broke up with me became one of the best months ive ever had, and part of that is because of KoRn. if the Issues album didn't exist, i would've been depressed for way longer than i was and who knows how i would be doing now.... KoRn has also helped me through so much other shit that ive experienced recently and listening to them continues to be a healthy coping mechanism for me. i could sit here and write paragraphs about how much i love this band because their music is so helpful for me and so many other people.
another part of why i love KoRn is because i have so much respect for Jonathan Davis, the lead singer. JD has been through so much shit in his life and yet he's still such an awesome person now. hes such an inspiration to me for so many different reasons... his ability to be so vulnerable in his music and art in general is really admirable, especially as a guy who was a celebrity in the 90s when things weren't as acceptable as they are now. KoRn has a song where you can literally hear JD having a breakdown, not to mention the several live performances where he's cried onstage. i just think he's really cool for being so open about shit hes been through.
my favorite KoRn album is either Untitled or Issues. like i said, Issues has been super helpful to me through a lot of things, but Untitled is also very special to me because of its artwork. KoRn albums in the 2000s have some really great artwork, specifically See You On The Other Side and like i mentioned, Untitled. Untitled's artwork also resembles my mom's favorite artist's work, which obviously adds to why i care about Untitlted so much. My favorite KoRn song is Predictable, which you can guess from my username. i have some of the lyrics to predictable written on the neck of my guitar ( i can in every way...")

i love how trent looks in the perfect drug mv.... hes like a lonely vampire in a big mansion. its very pretty. ive heard that he was really depressed in the era they made it though.

oh my god i fuckin love nine inch nails. i said on my about me page that it was my second favorite band ever which is very true!!!!! there's nothing quite like the music trent reznor makes. he's a very artistic person and we always need more of those in the music industry i think. i also think his music videos are amazing. closer is my favorite, but i chose head like a hole for this page so i wouldnt seem like a poser lol.... i still really like head like a hole though. its my second favorite.
my favorite album of theirs is with teeth. its also one of my favorite albums in general, like by any artist. all of NIN's music is fantastic, but there's just something about how With Teeth sounds that i really really enjoy. according to last.fm, ive listened to it/songs in it 456 times in the 8 months ive had an account on last.fm (not counting when i listened to nearly all of it yesterday because last.fm breaks fucking constantly....)
my favorite NIN song is ruiner. i think its one of the best songs ever produced. i also really like the demo.

hi ken if u see this

okay, slipknot. while it wasn't necessarily the first ever metal band i had listened to, it was definitely my gateway into the genre. in October of 2022 my friend had just gotten into metal, and they wanted me to try listening to different metal genres so i could figure out which one i liked. One of the songs they told me to listen to was Spit it Out by slipknot, and Nu metal turned out to be the genre i liked the most out of all the ones they showed me. later that day i ended up listening to more of slipknot, and something in my brain activated. i was fixated on slipknot until late december when i got into korn.
slipknot isnt something that i talk about a lot nowadays, but its still really important to me, and i still really like what they do. i think their self titled album is one of the greatest metal albums of all time. my favorite slipknot song has always been and will always be Purity.

sorry for the lack of stuff here... ill be updating it regularly so stay tuned!!!!
